The world may be especially turbulent in 2020, but as Jeff Goldblum said “Life Finds a Way”. Not only are we adapting to how we present information, but also in how we network, and collaborate among ourselves. Intellective had such a wonderful time at Think 2020 that when we were offered an opportunity to exhibit at the Connected Claims USA Virtual event, we jumped at the chance.

Connected Claims 2020 boasts the largest gathering for claims executives. Not only did Connected Claims offer dozens of sessions on healthcare, customer services, claims, and digital transformation in the healthcare sector, but it also offered a networking aspect for attendees. Some notable speakers included Frank Carni from Farmers Insurance, Don Jones from Mass Mutual Financial Group, and Jeanette Ward of Texas Mutual Insurance Company.

Connected Claims Networking

The team at Intellective was elated to be able to network with so many claims professionals from all over the world. By leveraging the networking app Brella, Connected Claims was able to sync up busy professionals in an unique way. Much like speed networking, digital business cards were exchanged and mutually interested groups met via video-chats through the app. This allowed for a personal touch in a digital world, and a way to quickly exchange information and ideas that may lead to better partnerships down the line.

Connected Claims Sessions

Many members of our team also attended sessions for the Connected Claims event. Two main talking points for this year’s session were Touchless Claims and Innovation. We see more and more industries embracing AI and moving the human workforce to other, more intricate problems, but it was very exciting to see how the healthcare and claims industry was using new technology to provide a better customer experience.

A ‘touchless claim’ is essentially an insurance claim in which the person submitting the claim has little to no contact with someone from the actual insurance company. Many people are opting to take advantage of new apps that allow for information to be uploaded and a decision to be made without their involvement. Not only does this allow for speedier decisions, happier customers, but it also allows for a seamless data workflow on the companies end. The information from an event can be updated in the person’s account, as well as larger reports without any human interaction (past the initial set up of course). Since more and more of the population are comfortable with using their cell phones to complete complicated tasks, it only makes sense that this is the next step for submitting claims.

Overall, Intellective gives Connected Claims a rave review. We loved the ability to interact with fellow professionals in this sector, as well as keep up to date with the new trends and technology. The playbacks of the sessions are available for one week after the initial sessions, and we highly recommend that you join us next year for Connected Claims USA Virtual 2021!
